Come From Love
A gentle reminder that love is the greatest force in the universe and the one available to all of us. Let us use it so it will grow stronger.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.“ - Martin Luther King, Jr.
I have been thinking lately that perhaps the most important work any of us can do right now is to come from love.
The world feels increasingly fractured. Every day we are exposed to greed, misinformation, dominance, collapse, and wrongdoing. We are encouraged to choose sides, defend positions, or simply numb ourselves and tune out.
Every spiritual tradition, every wisdom lineage, and every great teacher arrives at the same conclusion: love is the most powerful force available to human beings.
As a salve, I like to imagine what would happen if thousands of us made a simple commitment: come from love.
Let this be the ceremony of our time: to become a living embodiment of love.
Today, before you begin your day, place your hand on your heart and make a quiet promise: May I come from love.
Then look for an opportunity to put that promise into action, over and over again.
