Do Let's
Today is my 27th wedding anniversary, and I am sharing a little secret inscribed on our wedding rings.
“Cynics always say no. Saying yes leads to knowledge. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes.” - Stephen Colbert
When my husband and I got married, we made a promise to each other that is inscribed on our wedding rings: “Do Let’s!” It’s a line from The Philadelphia Story, a fabulous Katherine Hepburn movie from 1940. We try to keep the “do let’s” attitude in our lives, looking for ways to stay excited and open to things. When he asks me to do something or try something, even when I am tired or not sure I am interested, I remember our vow and respond with “Do let’s!” And guess what? I am almost always glad I did.
Do you have an attitude of saying yes to life?
Pick a phrase that will signify saying yes to life for you. It can be as simple as “heck yah” or “for sure.”
Next time someone asks you to do something, check within to see if it feels right. Try on saying “yes.” How does it feel?
What opens up for you when you approach life with a “do let’s” attitude?
Of course do not say “yes” to something that is not your responsibility, or doesn’t feel right, but if it fits your values, then make it an emphatic YES!

Congratulations! Love your emails. Thank you!
